Fill out an application to volunteer at Chesapeake Public Library. Help out at an occasional event or regularly assist at one of our local library locations. Spaces are limited.

Teens (Grades 9-12)

Interested in serving your community? Apply to volunteer by completing the application. Bring the completed observation form to your interview. Spaces are limited.

Teen Library Council (Grades 6-12)

The Teen Library Council is a library sponsored volunteer organization for community conscious teens.

Tutoring @ COIL
(16 and Older)

Sign up to help tutor K-6 grade students in math and reading at our Campostella location. We welcome adults, teens, and educational community service project groups. Shifts can be coordinated with semester or summer schedules in mind.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Chesapeake Public Library raise funds and sponsor special Library programs.

Library Board

The Chesapeake Library Board is an advisory board appointed by City Council to provide input to the City Manager, Library Director, and City Council concerning Library matters.

The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status that provides funding that complements the City's support for continued operation of the library.

Norfolk Historical Society

The Norfolk County Historical Society is committed to the preservation and dissemination of the history of the City of Chesapeake and surrounding areas.
