Anyone can get a card.

Yes, a valid government-issued ID is required to borrow physical items. This can include a driver’s license, passport or Department of Defense card. (Student cards are assigned through the school.) No ID? Ask staff what other options are available.

You can pick up your new card at the Library when you visit.

Yes, your card will expire. This helps us keep your records up to date. To renew your card call 757-410-7100 or visit your local library.

Library cards are free. In order to continue sharing items with the community, a fee is charged for lost or damaged items. Learn more about it here.

Most items are due three (3) weeks after checkout. If you’d like to keep an item longer, you may be able to renew twice.

Renewals are not available for items on hold for another user.
