Career Consultation

Schedule a career readiness consultation with a library staff member to learn about creating a resume, writing a cover letter or filling out a job application. Call the Library at 757-410-7100 to schedule an appointment.

Online Resume Review & Coaching

Live one-to-one help is available from Noon to midnight through Tutor.com. Tutors will assist with job applications, provide technical feedback on resumes and cover letters, as well as interview prep.

Career Transitions

Search for jobs, explore careers and schools, and learn how to create a resume, write cover letters, as well as best practices for interviews. You can also get advice on your next career step through videos, articles and assessments.

Lynda.com/LinkedIn Learning

Due to technical issues between Lynda.com and the Library’s Integrated Library System, we are unable to provide access to Lynda.com classes at this time.

Universal Class

Earn Continuing Education units with more than 500 self-paced classes. Included areas of study are: Career Development, Business & Entrepreneurship, Computer Training, Finance and Office Skills.

Utilize job seeker resources through our Career Access Network (CAN) partner, the Hampton Roads Workforce Council. See which businesses are hiring in Hampton Roads, access unemployment information through Virginia Career Works and register for upcoming workshops on how to market yourself

NextGen Pathways

Learn about opportunity fairs, internships, career pathways and other programs for youth ages 14-24.

Career Online High School

The Library is offering a limited number of free scholarships to qualified adult learners who want to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certification online.

Test Proctoring

Computer Access

Access public computers and laptops to search job listings, fill out applications or take online classes.
